The Greatness of a Gallery Wall

The Greatness of a Gallery Wall

Gallery walls are one of my absolute favourite design features to see in a house. Why? Because they just burst with personality, stories and history. Grouping together pictures gives you the opportunity to create a narrative, not just a design statement.

What's so great about a gallery wall is that you can make it however you like. Minimal, with line drawings. Classic black and white family photos. A collection of found objects like hats and timber planks intertwined with traditional artwork for a layered, bohemian look. The opportunities are endless.

The "more is more" aesthetic is also a great chance to use random small-scale frames you don't know what else to do with. Hung in groupings, they can make a statement that looks anything but flimsy.

To give you an idea of how versatile the concept of a gallery wall is, here are some of my absolute favourite examples. You might find some inspiration for what you can do with all those frames and all that blank wall space!

For even more gallery wall ideas, I complied a Pinterest board jam-packed with gorgeous ideas for jazzing up any room in the house. Check it out; { d i s p l a y } .
